But that practicality didn\u2019t stop it from taking home a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ces.tech\/innovation-awards\/honorees\/2023\/honorees\/t\/the-integrated-and-intelligent-home-energy-ecosyst.aspx\">CES Innovation Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The system is essentially everything you need to manage your home\u2019s energy needs. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.geappliances.com\/smart-stand-mixers\">GE Profile Stand Mixer<\/a> comes decked out with the usual kitchen gadget features: built-in scale and timer, voice control, and a dedicated app.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what makes this smart mixer genuinely useful is its Auto Sense mode. Any baker will tell you that finding the right consistency is essential, and the GE Profile takes the guesswork out of it. Once your egg whites have achieved perfectly stiff peaks, for instance, the mixer will automatically shut off. Masonite\u2019s latest door is full of every&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>smart feature you can imagine: a smart deadbolt, keypad, video doorbell, and automated lighting. It\u2019s even built with a backup battery in case your power goes out. It plugs into an electrical outlet and harnesses a process called photocatalysis, which is typically used for things like sterilization and water filtration, to keep your food fresh for longer. But with all the interest around biohacking, it makes sense to utilize all the health data you can get. It has both audio and visual alarms, and sends a notification to your phone for when you\u2019re away from the house. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.shelly.cloud\/en-us\/products\/product-overview\/shelly-plus-smoke-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shelly Plus<\/a> can also be synced with other smart home devices to do things like unlock doors, activate emergency lighting, and turn off appliances when it detects a fire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:32px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-the-bottom-line\">The bottom line<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Whether you want an app for your toilet or you just want to turn off the lights with your phone, most of us already use smart home technology to some degree.
