You are required to pass a vision test, a written knowledge test, and an alcohol and drug awareness test (if you\u2019re 21 or older).<\/li><li><strong>What you\u2019ll need: <\/strong>Out-of-state license, <a href=\"https:\/\/doa.alaska.gov\/dmv\/forms\/pdfs\/478.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">license application<\/a>, social security card, two documents that show <a href=\"https:\/\/doa.alaska.gov\/dmv\/akol\/original.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proof of identification<\/a>, and proof of address.<\/li><li><strong>Fees:<\/strong> $20 license fee.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-registration-1\"><strong>Registration:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Time:<\/strong> Within 10 days of your move (if you have obtained employment in Alaska.) If you have not obtained employment in Alaska, you\u2019ll have within 60 days of your move.<\/li><li><strong>Process:<\/strong> In order to register your car in Alaska, you will first need to have your VIN verified. You can <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.azdot.gov\/mvd\/Application\/ApplicationForm.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">start the application online<\/a> but will have to complete a vision exam in person. If you have a valid driver\u2019s license from another state, you will not need to take a written or driving exam.<\/li><li><strong>What you\u2019ll need:<\/strong> Out-of-state driver\u2019s license, social security card, filled-out <a href=\"https:\/\/azdot.gov\/content\/licenseidentification-application\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arizona Driver\u2019s License Application<\/a>, proof of residency, and two proofs of identification.<\/li><li><strong>Fees:<\/strong> The cost of obtaining a new license vary <a href=\"https:\/\/azdot.gov\/motor-vehicles\/driver-services\/driver-license-information\/fees-driver-license\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">based on age<\/a>: Ages 16-39: $25; ages 40-44: $20; ages 45-49: $15; age 50 and older: $10<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-registration-2\"><strong>Registration:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Time: <\/strong>Immediately after you move<\/li><li><strong>Process: <\/strong>Registering your vehicle must be done in person by visiting the Arizona Motor Vehicles Division. If you\u2019re moving to Phoenix or Tucson, your vehicle will need to undergo an emissions test prior to registration. You will also need to make sure your car is insured prior to applying for a title and registration.<\/li><li><strong>What you\u2019ll need:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/apps.azdot.gov\/files\/mvd\/mvd-forms-lib\/96-0236.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Title and Registration Application<\/a>, out-of-state title, out-of-state registration and license plate, proof of insurance, proof of emissions test (if applicable), and photo ID.<\/li><li><strong>Fees:<\/strong> Registration fees will be $4.50, $8.00, or $9.00 depending on the type of vehicle. There\u2019s also an air quality fee of $1.50. If your license has been expired for more than 31 days or you don\u2019t have your out-of-state license available, you will need to take the vision and written tests. If it\u2019s been expired for more than one year, you will need to take the vision, written, and driving tests.<\/li><li><strong>What you\u2019ll need:<\/strong> Proof of legal residency, social security card, and two acceptable <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dmv.org\/ar-arkansas\/apply-license.php\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">proofs of identity<\/a>. <em>Note: If you want to apply for an Enhanced Security Driver\u2019s License, you will need to show two documents proving legal residency and will have to go to a specific <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.dfa.arkansas.gov\/office-locations\/enhanced-security-dl-id-offices\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Enhanced Security DL\/ID Office<\/em><\/a><em>.<\/em><\/li><li><strong>Fees:<\/strong> $40 license fee with a $2 surcharge if you pay with a credit card.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-registration-3\"><strong>Registration:<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Time:<\/strong> Within 30 days of your move<\/li><li><strong>Process:<\/strong> You will need to register your vehicle in person at the nearest Office of Motor Vehicles.
